Adding My Glam. This one has me the most skeptical because it's by Michelle Phan and a few other Youtube Gurus. It seems like everyone is trying to cash in on the subscription fad that Kim Kardashian started a few years ago. Hopefully My Glam won't be a dud like Eco-Emi or GoGoGirlfriend was for me.

There's a new one in Canada called topbox.ca and it's $10 a month.

I've signed up for it. Let's hope it's not another dud. This supposed is what was sent as their November box.

If the samples are full size or deluxe then I'll be super impressed. This is what I wrote in the list of subscription programs.

This one is new and is by Michelle Phan & Jessica Harlow. Like Birchbox it's a subscription beauty company that sends out "four to five new beauty products each month in a cute makeup bag". From My Glam's FAQs, "Glam Bags are shipped on the last day of every month via USPS mail".

I think I might sign up for a few with the yearly option after the holidays are over.  This list is awesome and really informative. Thank You!

Zadidoll-I was looking into the MyGlam and from what I read it seems that they haven't sent out boxes yet.  I saw a FB post stating they would be delivered around December 10th?  I thought these products might be what is going to be shipped out in this box (Dec 10).  If that's the case, then I'm in! I watched the YouTube vid with Michelle Phan and it looked like the makeup bag was pretty cute, too!  I'm kind of skeptical, as well.  I did sign up for just the general stuff and I took the questionaire.  I was thinking of asking for this as a Christmas present, but then I'm also thinking about the Cravebox, when it finally gets released, because it is supposed to be a mix of different things.

BTW-what did you think of their questionaire compared to other programs?

I really appreciate all of the information that you provide on these forums!

Right now I'm going to have to tell people to AVOID subscribing to MyGlam at this time ONLY because when you enter your credit card the page is NOT secure. The site is a horrible security mess and jumps from unsecured to secured to unsecured without any notification. My browser is set to pop up and let me know if I'm switching from unsecured or not and with MyGlam there is no alert.

The questionnaire was odd compared to other programs and felt it was more appropriate for those looking to buy shoes than cosmetics. There were no questions about your skin coloring, eye coloring or hair coloring. In fact for those curious here are screenshots of all 13 questions on the questionnaire (it skips from question 5 to question 7). Click on the image for a larger image.

My only concern with the questions is that how will they be able to determine the right products for the customer? Granted Birchbox gets it wrong from time to time with colors sent out to customers but we know there are a larger variety of boxes that is sent out by Birchbox each month. No idea with MyGlam. Still I'm the forum guinea pig on this one it seems since I have signed up despite the fact that the MyGlam order page is not secured.

By far my favorite is Birchbox. Despite them sending out mini samples instead of deluxe samples at least they don't send out old products nearing the end of it's shelf life like Eco-Emi did with the Sweet Riot chocolates OR send out products that you can buy at Target for $1 like GoGoGirlfriend does with ELF $1 items. As much as I love full size items with Test Tube... both my boxes ended up coming with damaged products and at almost $40 a box I want my products to come INTACT.

Thanks for letting us know about the security concern, Zadidoll.  I felt that the questionnaire was geared towards "style" and I agree with you on it didn't address skin tone, concerns, etc.  Again, thanks for always keeping us in the loop!

The email I got from them today still shows an "Early 2012" launch date. The box image looks intriguing though.

Hey Ladies and Gents! I just found out about this new makeup subscription service and I wanted to let you know about it as well. I was browsing YouTube and came across a video on this new monthly subscription service called My Glam. It's only $10 a month and free shipping. You get a sneak peak at your box so when I saw it I signed up immediately! Their also on FB and I found out through there this company just launched this month and two days after the launch they already have 10,000 subscribers! I just had to share with y'all b/c I didn't see anything on here about it and I know we love our monthly makeup samples! Let me know if you sign up! I signed up today and they sent me an email so I should get December's box...oh and they said they will begin shipping them out on Dec. 1st.

There was no security glitch, thankfully. We didn't have SSL enabled for about 2 hours for one day. There are a lot of well established sites that don't ever enable SSL, we just like to be extra careful. No need to repay, you are good to go! :))

I signed up Nov. 29th. The website says they would ship out either the last day of the month or the 1st of the month, in their FAQ's it mentions both so I'm a little confused. I didn't see anything on there that mentions shipping on December 10th and I didn't see that on their FB either. Well it's Dec 1st and I still haven't received a shipping email! Maybe they will ship out a little later because of their high volume of subscribers, maybe they got in over their heads. We'll see...do you ladies want me to let you know when I get a shipping email?

Cravebox launched today

Re:Subscription & Sampling Programs
by Steve_uk9

Just an update....

As mentioned above Cravebox launched today. Unfortunately it IS another US only company.

MyGlam's December box is sold out and according to their Facebook wall they're almost nearing selling out for January. So if they do then the EARLIEST you'll be able to subscribe will be in January for a February box. At this time I'm still recommending holding off on subscribing because it seems as if they've already hit over 20,000 active paying subscribers and depending on who is actually running the company (I doubt it really is Michelle) there just might be a few snags when it comes time to actually shipping the boxes out. Let's put it this way, if Christine from Eco-Emi has problems with her company in terms of shipping and she has roughly half of what Michelle has already then MyGlam might hit some snags. Birchbox, which I love, has a good size staff and millions of dollars into it already and they still encounter problems so I do think it's possible MyGlam will have problems as well since it just started and this will be their first box shipped out.

Like always I'll give my honest opinion on the boxes I get. I'll be subscribing to Cravebox as well.

Re:Subscription & Sampling Programs
by Slevinkal

MyGlam originally said that it ships the last day of the month.

I just checked the FAQ and they changed it to this "Glam Bags are shipped on or around the 10th day of every month. You can expect your Glam Bag to arrive 5-10 business days after it has shipped. Just like your magazines, you will get a new Glam Bag every month and there is no need to re-order."

Yeah I seen Cravebox launched but since I just signed up for MyGlam I'll wait on that. These sampling services are getting expensive! LOL Wow, MyGlam switched it up on us fast! I was just on the website like a day ago and now they have changed the shipping to the 10th. Ugh, I'm going out of town for Christmas on the 16th so I probably won't be getting that one, and I won't be back til later in January! I am pretty sure I'll be getting the December box because they charged me the day I signed up and they said they wouldn't charge your card if they were sold out of boxes, so let's hope they hold up to that and don't change the fine print.

Re:Subscription & Sampling Programs
by atrixa

But you can skip the month so you're not charged if you don't want the hassle of canceling. I got a box in November for $5, got one for my daughter for $5 and skipped her box for December (will again at the end of December for January). I did get a December box which came today. Reviews on both boxes sometime this week. I have the videos for all my November boxes but haven't had time to finish editing anything.

Re:Subscription & Sampling Programs
by Woodland_Nymph

Oh it does add up... and fast. You think "oh it's only $10/$12.99/$15" but then it just adds up.

For me it was:

Birchbox: $10

Eco-Emi: $15

GoGoGirlfriend: $12.99

Add on TestTube (almost $40) every three months (and I ended up with a refund on my QVC TestTube box that was delivered to someone else) and it's crazy.

I no longer have Eco-Emi or GGG but I now have Julep Maven ($21.something after tax), MyGlam ($10) and I'm signing up for Cravebox ($10) and Beauty Army (once they're out). Basically I'm spending around $50 in samples each month and every three months it's closer to $80. Hmm... $80? That's a couple of UD palettes depending on the palette..

Re:Subscription & Sampling Programs
by Zebatov

so i just got a custom ad for "julep" which, i believe, is a mainly nail focused beauty brand (maybe i'm wrong here though). the add said $40 worth of beauty for $5. i was intrigued and clicked on it.

it's another sub service, and basically if you type in the code intro5 you'll get your first box for 5 bucks. you take a quiz, and they pick an option for you, and if you don't like it, you can pick another one.

i'll be honest, i just wanted the $5 offer because the products looked nice, BUT to cancel you HAVE to call them.

it states it's for security reasons that you can't cancel through the internet, but i think it's because sales reps are waiting on the other line.

a friend of mine used to work for an internet provider, and when people call to cancel he'd try to win them back and do up-sales.

so i passed. thought i'd share anyway, for those of you who are good on the phone. if it was just through email, no biggie but calling.. nah.

http://www.julep.com/

box  goes out every month, and is 19.99 i think. it's not big though. just 2-3 items from the julep brand.

Re:Subscription & Sampling Programs
by jenniwhittaker

oh, i thought you can only skip like 1 month or something! i'm pretty bad with stuff like that and would forget. mmmh. did you like their products? i never tried julep before!

You can skip each month so long as you remember to. I skip Shoe Dazzle every month for the last six months simply because there hasn't been any new shoes that I want from them. lol

I looked into Shoe Dazzle, and some of the other shoe ones, because that's not a bad price for shoes, and it's nice that you can keep skipping, but none of them sell my size :(

I'm a 4.5, but most of my shoes are size 5's in brands that run small or are boots that can be a bit larger and still work.  (I can rarely trust a size 5 until I try it on) But I think Shoe Dazzle starts at a size 6? *cries*

I did like the polish colors BUT I don't like the price simply because you're getting a little more than half the size of OPI, China Glaze or even Sinful Colors. I showed in a video I did (but haven't edited) that Julep's polishes are roughly the same amount as the mini Zoya's that came in my Birchbox.
